ONE-ON-ONE | ADJOA SARPONG SPEAKS ABOUT HER REFLECTIONS ON COVID-19 (THE MERITS)

A sunshiny afternoon GospelGh got closer to an astonishing gospel artiste Adjoa Sarpong, who recently released a music video titled “Nhyira” to get her reflection on how Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is affecting children of God and the music industry.

In the conversation with the Africa’s Gospel Router, she expressed many things that have been positive during these unrealistic times. Here are some of the interesting things and lessons she gave:

The wisest man who ever lived (King Solomon) concluded his sayings with this “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind” (Ecclesiastics 12:13 NIV). This scripture keeps playing in my spirit for the past few months since the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) became a global pandemic, disturbing almost all societies, health systems, educational systems and all economies disrupting all forms of lives even into spiritual lives. Countries and especially the so-called super powers are all battling this unseen enemy.

She added despite the lingering effect and uncertainty of COVID-19, I strongly believe it has silently offered me an opportunity to reflect on many things, which has influenced my life positively. So hey, do not say all is bad. If you take a breather and reflect on things, you shall see the goodness of God in this situation. I am so much convinced that in the end, children of God will say God is good.

Speaking about what she does most, which is music, Adjoa had this to say;

Being a musician, each day is a busy one for everyone. Sometimes programs take me out for a whole week, leaving my husband and the kids. Due to the demands in the music industry, although I do my best to always be there for my family, it has not been enough.

With the advent of this pandemic, my relationship with my family has been deepened, which is a blessing in disguise. Aside my personal devotions, we have family devotions at home with the kids. It is a period I so love. Whiles I sing, my husband plays the keyboard and the kids join in the chorus. The bond has been solid.

Though we are home, we have succeeded in making home a lovely place to live. I help the kids with academic exercises sent to me by their teachers. Since my husband now works from home, we see ourselves most often and it is a delight to me.

I have been able to record four music videos during this period. It is not time to sit idle and do nothing. Remember, the devil finds work for the idle hands. Instead of idling, get to the studio and record your single, album or shoot your music video. If you are not a musician, concentrate on things you never had time to finish and do them.

When all is normal, you will be too busy to do them. I have also used the time to compose few songs, which I try on the keyboard. By that am polishing my keyboard skills too. Gracefully, am making progress with the songs.

In conclusion, the “Nhyira” artiste encouraged everyone to have a self-introspection and systematically, execute the unfinished task in your life. It could even be physical or spiritual task. Have time, fast and pray to God to intervene.

Also, let us consider something here; not everything about this disease is bad. Whiles at home, I would suggest to couples to iron out their difference and make their marriage work again and love together lively. Set good examples for the children to emulate.
