Nigerian worship leader, songwriter and recording artist Victoria Orenze, has shocked many with the release of her brand new single and music video titled, “What Medication.”
The shock is because unlike the worshipful tunes she is popularly known for, her new single has R&B/Hip-Hop vibes.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, she revealed that the song came to her during a discussion with a friend about her meditation on the bible.
“My meditation was about how we as believers usually seek help, answers and results from everywhere else except the Bible.
Meanwhile, the Bible has all the right prescriptions for every situation. As stated in Psalm 48:2a “Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth” she said.
According to her, when it dawned on her that this was not the kind of song she likes or would naturally even listen to, she hesitated on recording it.
However, she said the Holy Spirit didn’t give her rest and she was reminded that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not a genre of music but can be expressed through different genres, arts, and styles. She knew instantly then, that the song had to be recorded immediately.
She advised all who don’t like other genres of Gospel music to embrace it because God can use anything, the role one has to play is to test the spirit and the source.
