Maverick City bags Grammy Award

Georgia-based group Maverick City Music have won their first Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.

The bounds breaking group are also the first Gospel or Christian act to perform at the grammys and be televised while performing.

The Old Church Basement Album which was recorded alongside Elevation Worship which contains 13 tracks in all with billboard topping tracks like “Jireh” and “Waiting on you” won the Contemporary Christian Music Album Award for the group.

In the Acceptance speech Chris Brown from Elevation Worship said, “I will never forget that little basement where this beautifully wild season between our two groups began”.
