“Let Christian Atsu’s Death Reform Your Mindset”, Sonnie Badu Tells GFA

Renowned UK-based Ghanaian gospel singer & pastor, Sonnie Badu has asked the Ghana Football Association to let the death of Christian Atsu reform their mindset and change their attitude. In a Facebook post, he said it was quite unfortunate that the late Atsu was described as the “Messi of Ghana” only after his death and yet retired early from the senior national team, Black Stars.

He advised that players should be made to feel important while they are alive, and not when a tragedy befalls them before we show our love to them.

On March 17, multitudes of Ghanaians dressed in traditional red-and-black mourning clothing, filled the forecourt of the State House to pay their last respects to the fallen hero – Christian Atsu at his funeral.
